Why the Aftermarket Needed a Better System

Modern parts procurement is still held together by phone calls, emails, spreadsheets, and manual follow-ups. For garages, dealers, suppliers, and insurers, this creates delays, miscommunication, and decisions made without full visibility.

We built My Parts Locator because we’ve seen these challenges firsthand. Fragmented workflows slow repairs, inflate costs, and introduce friction between teams that should be working in sync.

Our goal was simple: Create a shared digital environment where every part request, quote, order, and approval is structured, visible, and traceable. A platform that reflects how the automotive aftermarket actually works, and gives every participant the clarity and confidence to make better decisions.

Jason brings a unique perspective to the team through his military background, adding a level of discipline, structure, and accountability that helps ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.Since entering the automotive aftermarket in 2012, he has experienced first-hand the challenges faced in the industry, repeatedly encountering structural issues—fragmented procurement processes and limited transparency and heavy reliance on individual decision-making, and a lack of real-time data. These challenges became even clearer during the COVID pandemic, when disrupted supply chains exposed just how little control many organizations had over purchasing, supplier selection, and spend. The solution was built not from theory, but from practical insight gained in high-pressure environments where cost control, risk management, and accountability truly matter.
